The Space Between Classes.

The new Digital AHS Leonding picks up the lines of the existing campus and folds them around a central courtyard. It is less a building beside a park than a school made of inside, outside and everything in between. Terraces, balconies and generous stair connections bring green spaces to every level—so fresh air is never more than a few steps away.

At its centre runs a vertical learning landscape of stairs, seating steps and atria. The aula can expand into the multipurpose room and buffet, while open coworking areas activate the spaces alongside it. Corridors do not simply lead somewhere. They become learning streets: places to meet, study, exchange ideas and occasionally get distracted by a very good one.

Classrooms are organised in clusters, with shared and specialist rooms positioned to support clear orientation and short distances. Administration welcomes visitors directly at the entrance, the library communicates with the outside, and the sports halls remain independently accessible while offering unexpected views from the courtyard.

The result is a school that makes communication spatial. Learning is not confined to the classroom, and movement is more than circulation. The building does what a digital school should do: connect people, spaces and possibilities.
